How to rotate PDF pages

  1. Open your PDF

Pages appear as thumbnails so you can spot the ones that need turning.

  2. Select pages (optional)

Click the pages to rotate. With nothing selected, every page is rotated.

  3. Rotate

Turn left, right or 180°. Thumbnails update so you can check before saving.

  4. Save

Download the corrected PDF. The rotation sticks in every viewer.

Key features

Lossless rotation

Rotation is stored as a page setting, so text and images are not redrawn or recompressed.

Keeps everything else

Because pages are rotated in place, bookmarks, links and form fields are preserved.

Mixed orientations

Turn a single landscape chart within a portrait report without affecting the other pages.

Shift-click ranges

Select a run of pages quickly by clicking the first and shift-clicking the last.

Why do scanned pages come out sideways?

Scanners and phone apps sometimes guess the orientation wrongly, especially for pages with little text or with tables printed sideways. Rotating in a PDF viewer usually only changes your view, not the file. This tool writes the rotation into the PDF so it opens correctly for everyone you send it to. For more control over page order as well, use Organise PDF.

Security and privacy

Rotate PDF runs entirely in your browser. Your file is processed in this tab’s memory and never uploaded to PDF365 or anyone else. When you close the tab or press “Start over”, the data is discarded.
