Key features
Six positions
Top or bottom, left, centre or right, with an adjustable distance from the edge.
Flexible formats
Plain numbers, “Page 3”, “Page 3 of 12”, “3 / 12” or “- 3 -”.
Skip cover pages
Leave the first page or two unnumbered, and start counting from any number.
Book-style mirroring
For double-sided printing, put numbers on the outer edge of left and right pages.
Numbering a document made from several files
If you’re assembling a bundle, such as an appendix pack or a court bundle, merge the files first and then add numbers to the combined document, so the numbering runs continuously. To number sections separately, number each file on its own with a different start number before merging.
Security and privacy
Page Numbers runs entirely in your browser. Your file is processed in this tab’s memory and never uploaded to PDF365 or anyone else. When you close the tab or press “Start over”, the data is discarded.

Questions about Page Numbers
How do I skip the first page?
In “Number these pages”, enter 2-. Page 2 will then be numbered with your start number, usually 1. Set Start at to 2 if you want page 2 to show “2”.
Will numbers cover existing content?
They’re placed at the margin you choose. If your document has content close to the edge, increase the margin or move the numbers to the top.
Can I add Bates numbering?
You can number pages from any start value, which covers simple Bates-style sequences. Prefixes such as case references are not supported yet.
