Why PDF365
A PDF toolkit you can trust with real documents
Your files stay with you
Browser tools process documents on your own device. Nothing is sent to us, so there is nothing for us to store, leak or lose.
Fast, with no queue
No waiting for an upload or a download. Small files finish almost instantly, and heavy work runs in the background so the page stays responsive.
Free, without sign-up
Every live tool is free to use, with no account, no email address and no watermark added to your output.
Works on any device
Use PDF365 on a laptop, tablet or phone in any modern browser. Layouts and controls adapt to touch screens.
Honest results
We tell you exactly what each tool does and what it cannot do. If a feature is not ready yet, it is labelled as planned.
Built on proven libraries
We use well-established open-source PDF engines, including pdf-lib, Mozilla PDF.js and qpdf, rather than home-made shortcuts.
Security and privacy
Processed on your device, not on our servers
Most online PDF services ask you to upload your document, process it on their computers and send it back. That works, but it means a copy of your contract, payslip or medical letter sits on someone else’s server, at least for a while.
PDF365 works differently. When you open a tool, your browser downloads the code that does the processing. Your file is then read and changed locally, in memory, using the same engines that power many desktop PDF apps. The finished file is handed straight to your browser to save.
We do not use accounts, we do not log the names or contents of your files, and the site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. Read the privacy policy for the details.
- No uploads for live toolsYour PDF is read from your device and never transmitted to PDF365.
- Standard encryptionPassword protection uses AES-256 through qpdf, a mature open-source PDF library.
- Nothing left behindFiles live only in the tab’s memory. Reset the tool or close the tab and they are gone.
- Strict security headersA Content Security Policy stops the page from loading scripts or sending data anywhere unexpected.
How it works
Four steps, no uploads
Step 1: Choose a tool
Search above or pick from the grid. Each tool has its own page with clear instructions.
Step 2: Add your files
Drag files onto the page or tap to browse. They open in your browser, not on our server.
Step 3: Adjust and process
Pick pages, set options and preview the result. Processing happens on your device.
Step 4: Download
Save the finished file. Close the tab and every trace of it is cleared from memory.

Choosing between similar tools
Several tools overlap, and picking the right one saves time. Split PDF produces several files, while Extract Pages gathers the pages you choose into a single new PDF. Organise PDF is the most flexible: it shows every page as a thumbnail so you can reorder, rotate, duplicate and delete in one pass.
If a file is too big to email, start with Compress PDF. Scanned documents usually shrink a great deal because they are made of photographs; text-only PDFs are already compact and will not get much smaller. For printing in black and white, Greyscale PDF removes colour and often reduces size as a side effect.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is PDF365 really free?
Yes. All of the live tools are free, with no sign-up and no watermarks. We plan to cover running costs with clearly labelled advertising in the content areas of the site in future. Ads will never appear inside a tool or be disguised as a download button.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Every tool that is currently live runs entirely in your web browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your PDF is read from your device into the browser’s memory, processed there and handed back to you as a download.
You can check this yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network tab and process a file. You will not see it being sent.
Which browsers are supported?
Recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop, Android and iOS. Older browsers may lack features we rely on, such as Web Workers and OffscreenCanvas; if something is unsupported, the tool will say so rather than fail silently.
Is there a file size limit?
Each file can be up to 250 MB. In practice the limit is your device’s memory: a desktop computer copes with large documents comfortably, while an older phone may struggle with files over about 100 MB. We warn you before starting a job that is likely to be slow.
Can I edit the existing text in a PDF?
Not yet. Our Add Text tool places new text on top of a page, which suits filling in forms or adding notes. Changing the words already inside a PDF needs a different approach, and we would rather not offer it until it can be done reliably.
Can you convert Word, Excel or PowerPoint files?
These conversions are on our roadmap. Doing them accurately requires a server-side engine, and we want to build that with explicit consent, short retention and proper isolation before switching it on. Until then they are labelled “Planned”.
