Key features

Accurate placement

What you see in the preview is where the text lands in the PDF, including on rotated pages.

Real, selectable text

Text is written using standard PDF fonts, so it stays sharp and can be selected and searched.

Multiple lines and pages

Add as many boxes as you need, on any page, with line breaks where you want them.

Keyboard friendly

Tab to a text box and nudge it with the arrow keys; hold Shift for bigger steps.

Adding text versus editing text

This tool places new text on top of the page. It can’t change the words already in the PDF, because PDFs store text as positioned characters rather than flowing paragraphs. Editing existing text reliably needs a different approach, which we haven’t built yet rather than offer something that breaks layouts.

For forms, add your answers here, then flatten the result if you want to stop them being moved. To sign as well, use Sign PDF.

Security and privacy

Add Text runs entirely in your browser. Your file is processed in this tab’s memory and never uploaded to PDF365 or anyone else. When you close the tab or press “Start over”, the data is discarded.
